Preview iA Writer Pro’s formatting

iA Writer Pro for Mac includes a Preview window to show a formatted view of your active document, including Markdown formatting.

Open iA Writer Pro

Show the Preview window

In iA Writer Pro, select View ➤ Show Preview.

Hide the Preview window

In iA Writer Pro, select View ➤ Hide Preview.

The Preview window automatically updates after a 3 second pause.

Copying from the Preview window lets you paste formatted text into other apps, such as email. You can also turn on a keyboard shortcut to create a new email from selected text in System Preferences ➤ Keyboard ➤ Shortcuts ➤ Services ➤ Messaging (by default it is Control-Option-Command-A).

You can also see a formatted preview of iA Writer Pro documents using Apple’s QuickLook (select the document in the Finder then press Space).
